Pearl River's Shanae Govan-Williams named Coach of the Year, PRCC earns 4 All-MACCC selections

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its postseason awards this week, and the Pearl River women's basketball program was heavily represented following a championship season.

Four Wildcats earned All-MACCC honors, headlined by Jahanna Wilson's First Team selection. Cy'Nara Robinson and Madison Hughes each secured Second Team recognition, and Jae'la Smith rounded out the group with an Honorable Mention nod. Head Coach Shanae Govan-Williams was named MACCC Coach of the Year.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Shanae Govan-Williams was named the MACCC Coach of the Year after leading Pearl River to a 22-6 overall record and a dominant 13-1 mark in conference play.

In her first season at the helm, Govan-Williams guided the Wildcats to the MACCC Championship and a runner-up finish in Region 23, establishing Pearl River as one of the top programs in the league.

JAHANNA WILSON
Wilson earned First Team All-MACCC honors after serving as a steady presence in the backcourt for the Wildcats. Appearing in 28 games, she averaged 11.0 points and 4.2 assists per contest while shooting 36.4 percent from the field and 33.9 percent from 3-point range.

In addition to her playmaking ability, Wilson contributed 2.7 rebounds per game and shot 70.5 percent from the free-throw line, helping orchestrate one of the conference's most efficient offenses.

CY'NARA ROBINSON
Robinson was a force in the paint for Pearl River, earning Second Team All-MACCC honors after a strong all-around season. She averaged 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 49.2 percent from the field.

Her physical presence and ability to control the glass made her a key piece of the Wildcats' success throughout the year.

MADISON HUGHES
Hughes provided consistent production on the perimeter to earn Second Team recognition. She averaged 8.7 points per game while shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Hughes also added 3.9 rebounds per contest, giving Pearl River another reliable option on both ends of the floor.

JAE'LA SMITH
Smith picked up Honorable Mention honors following a strong campaign in 27 games. She averaged 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 38.2 percent from the field and 35.4 percent from 3-point range.

She also converted 80 percent of her free-throw attempts and added 2.0 assists per game, showcasing her versatility throughout the season.
