POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Pearl River Wildcats stumbled in their final home contest of the 2025 season, falling 56-13 to No. 12 Hinds on Homecoming at Dobie Holden Stadium.
Hinds (6-2 overall; 4-1 MACCC) struck first, jumping out to a quick 14-0 lead over Pearl River (1-7; 0-5).
The Wildcats answered late in the first quarter when Keenan Franks (State Line; Greene County) capped off a determined drive with a 14-yard touchdown run at the 3:49 mark. The score was set up by a clutch 19-yard completion from Kobe Pierce (Laurel) to Howard Kinchen (Lafayette, La.; Patterson) on fourth down, trimming the deficit to 14-6.
The Eagles responded with 28 unanswered points to stretch their lead to 42-6 before Franks found the end zone again early in the third quarter — his second touchdown of the night and eighth of the season — making it 42-13.
Hinds tacked on two more scores before the final whistle to secure the 56-13 victory.
