Pearl River's Olivia Mosley signs with Stillman College

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River sophomore Olivia Mosley is headed to the next level. The Wildcat sophomore recently signed to continue her education at Stillman College, a NAIA program located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Mosley joins an out-going class that already consists of Tougaloo signee Jakia Harper (Jackson; Provine), South Carolina State signee Shania Wright (Clinton), McNeese State signee Mychala "Pooh" Linzy (Clinton) and Delta State-bound Alanna Smith (Picayune).

"We are excited to send another Wildcat to the next level. I learned a long time ago and early in my career that players make plays and coaches call plays," Pearl River women's basketball coach Scotty Fletcher said. "It's a great honor to witness a player come to your program and achieve their dreams through hard work and sacrifice.

"Like the many before her who have also signed and went on to play at the next level we are excited for Libby and her family."

Mosley was an important asset for the Wildcats each of the last two seasons, helping PRCC advance to consecutive MACJC Tournaments.

As a freshman, Mosley started in 18 of 25 games, scoring at a 6.3 points-per-game clip. Her 157 total points were good enough for fifth on the squad. Mosley also averaged 3.7 rebounds per game. Mosley appeared in all 24 games for PRCC as a sophomore, averaging 4.1 ppg with 2.8 rebounds.

"Libby came to us from a great high school program that values hard work and effort. She was a consistent player for us and very valuable within our program," Fletcher said. "I witnessed a lot of growth from Libby and believe her best basketball is ahead of her.

"She will represent Stillman with the upmost pride, respect, class, and character as she did here for our program."

NEXT-LEVEL WILDCATS
Mosley, Harper, Wright, Smith and Linzy join a crew of Wildcats who have moved on to four-year schools under Fletcher's guidance, including Gabby Brown (East Tennessee State), Elexis Peyton (Jackson State), Cortia Blackmon (William Carey), Rehema Franklin (New Orleans), Shaniqua Magee (West Florida), Kyla Malone (New Orleans), Tariah Mouton (William Carey), Shelanita Starks (LSU-Alexandria), Asia Thibodeaux (Tougaloo), Charisma Walker (Alcorn State), Destiny Williams (William Carey) and Tyasia Willis (Bethel University).

LOOKING BACK
The Wildcats continued to make progress under Fletcher's leadership in 2019-20, finishing with a 15-9 overall record and 8-6 record in the MACJC. PRCC also qualified for the MACJC Tournament for the second straight year.
