POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday, and No. 5 Pearl River softball's Shania Fondren was named Player of the Week.
Fondren (Batesville; South Panola) turned in a huge four-game stretch, hitting .462 (6-for-13) with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs. She recorded multiple hits in three of the four contests and provided consistent run production in the middle of the lineup.
The sophomore has been one of the most dangerous hitters in the MACCC all season. Fondren leads the conference in both home runs (24) and RBIs (65) while batting .407 across 44 games. She has also scored 49 runs and stolen nine bases.
