No. 5 PRCC's Ann Elise Duncan named MACCC Pitcher of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its Players of the Week on Tuesday, and No. 5 Pearl River softball's Ann Elise Duncan (McComb; Brookhaven Academy) was named Pitcher of the Week.

With the selection, Pearl River has swept the weekly awards as Shania Fondren (Batesville; South Panola) earned Player of the Week.

Duncan opened her week with six shutout innings in a run-rule win over then-No. 17 Hinds, striking out five while allowing just two hits. She followed with a dominant complete-game performance at Holmes, tossing seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts.

In total, Duncan went 2-0, striking out 14 and scattering seven hits across 13 shutout innings.

The freshman right-hander has put together an outstanding debut season. Duncan has made 20 appearances and owns a 2.24 ERA across 90 2/3 innings, totaling 115 strikeouts with a 1.16 WHIP. She is 11-3 on the year with 10 complete games.
