POPLARVILLE— Pearl River's softball program saw another Lady Wildcat move on to the next level Wednesday when returning ace Dallas Blaker (Bay St. Louis; Our Lady Academy) signed with Belhaven.
Blaker registered six wins as a freshman last year, posting a 4.63 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 90 2/3 innings. In the batter's box, Blaker hit .256 with 13 RBIs.
"This is a great day for her, she has worked so hard to get to this point," PRCC coach Leigh White said. "We are very excited for her to move on to Belhaven. She will do great for them."
Belhaven's consistent success in softball ultimately convinced Blaker.
"It was an easy process for me," she said. "At Belhaven, they have always been a contender for the Division III National Championship and academically they have a good nursing program, which is what I want to pursue."
