Pearl River's Isaih Moore named MACJC's best

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River sophomore Isaih Moore (Columbia, S.C.; Sumter) was named the first MACJC Player of the Week for the 2019-20 season, the league announced Tuesday.

Moore's honor comes on the heels of a breakout debut week for the St. John's commit as the 6-foot-10 forward registered two double-doubles while leading then-No. 11 Pearl River past Delgado and William Carey's junior varsity squad.

In PRCC's season opener, a 98-53 win over the Dolphins, Moore scored 21 points with 15 rebounds and three blocks.

Three nights later, in a 116-33 win over the Crusaders, Moore netted another 21 points with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Pearl River climbed to No. 10 in the NJCAA Top 25 on Monday and later in the evening won their first road test, topping Baton Rouge 86-80. The Wildcats are back in action Saturday with a 2 p.m. tip at Southern University-Shreveport.

PRCC returns to Marvin R. White Coliseum next week for the Wildcat Classic. Pearl River will play Baton Rouge at 8 p.m. Monday and will then play LSU-Eunice at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. PRCC's women's team will open the two-day tournament with a 4 p.m. tip Monday against East Mississippi.

All of PRCC's games in the Wildcat Classic will be livestreamed at PRCCMedia.com/gold. They will also be carried on WRJW 1320 AM, WRJWRadio.com and the WRJW app.
