Pearl River eSports goes 4-2 in week three

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Pearl River eSports team went 4-2 last week to continue building on a great start to the 2025-26 campaign.

"This week showed a lot of growth from our players. While both Fortnite teams faced some challenges, Alex Pentecost responded in a big way the next day, earning an impressive win over the No. 2 Madden player in the league," head coach River Roderick said. "Rocket League continued to build momentum with another strong performance, moving into the Top 10 nationally. We closed out the week with Jaxon Hunter remaining undefeated in NBA 2K after two dominant wins, which secured him the No. 2 spot. I'm proud of the effort and consistency our players are showing each week as we continue to establish ourselves as a competitive program."

Fortnite started the week with a great showing as Jeffery Jasper and Ethan Smith defeated Rose State 2-1.

In Madden, Carson Freeman dropped a pair of games against East Georgia State and Finger Lakes. Alex Pentecost bounced back for the Wildcats, beating Finger Lakes 2-0.

Rocket League had its best showing of the week as Colton Kropp and Alex Arbo defeated Southwestern 3-0 and Danville Area 3-2.

Jaxon Hunter continued his incredible start to the year, improving to 5-0 with a 2-0 victory over Des Moines Area.
