POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The National Junior College Athletic Association announced its Division II Baseball World Series field Tuesday afternoon and the Pearl River baseball team earned an at-large berth into the national tournament as the 2-seed.
The Wildcats will take on the winner of 7-seed Iowa Central and 10-seed Monroe Sunday, May 24 at 1 p.m.
The Wildcats are headed back to the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series after putting together one of the top résumés in the country during the 2026 season. Pearl River enters postseason play with a 46-11 overall record after winning the MACCC Championship with a 25-3 conference mark. The Wildcats were the National Runner-up in 2025.
PRCC spent the entire season ranked inside the top three nationally, including five weeks at No. 1, while also posting a 17-6 record against ranked opponents and a 9-3 mark against NJCAA Division I competition.
Offensively, the Wildcats hit .343 as a team with 102 home runs, 116 doubles and 494 RBIs while outscoring opponents 534-273 on the season.
Sophomore catcher Coy Clements (Hattiesburg; Oak Grove) led the way with a .398 batting average, 23 home runs and 69 RBIs. Freshman outfielder Jackson Estes (Madison; Germantown) hit .419 with 10 home runs and 70 RBIs, while sophomore infielder Gatlin Pitts (Fairhope; Bayside Academy) scored a team-high 72 runs.
On the mound, sophomore right-hander Drew Harrison (Madison; Germantown) posted a 10-1 record with 81 strikeouts in 69.2 innings. Sophomore Landon Watts (Picayune) added 64 strikeouts and a 3.10 ERA across 52.1 innings.
