No. 2 Pearl River's KK Clark earns second MACCC Pitcher of the Week award

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced its weekly awards Tuesday morning, and No. 2 Pearl River baseball's KK Clark (Brandon) has been tabbed Pitcher of the Week.

With his selection, the Wildcats swept the weekly awards as Topher Jones (Hernando) won Player of the Week. The award is the right-hander's second of the season after winning it on April 8.

Clark was outstanding in his lone start of the week against rival Gulf Coast. In just five innings of work, Clark registered 10 strikeouts in a five-inning complete game. He allowed just two runs on four hits, with both of the runs coming via the long ball.

The Mississippi State transfer and Louisiana Tech signee has been nothing short of special for Pearl River this season. He has made 12 appearances on the year and has an MACCC-leading 1.64 ERA. He's also third in the conference in strikeouts with 78. Clark has thrown 55 innings for the Wildcats and is 7-2 on the mound. He has a minuscule WHIP of 1.05.
