POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River starting pitcher Landon Gartman (Bogue Chitto; Enterprise) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Gartman picked up the honor after a stellar debut last week. The right-hander struck out six in four innings, limiting the visiting East Central Warriors to one run on four hits and no walks. The 7th-ranked Wildcats cruised to a 9-1 victory.
As a freshman in 2020, Gartman struck out 10 in 6 2/3 innings.
Last semester, the right-hander signed with Memphis.
