POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Following a pair of incredible weeks on the court and the pitch, Pearl River volleyball's Sammie Smith (Biloxi; D'Iberville) and men's soccer's Christopher Dommer (Copenhagen, Denmark; Øregård Gymnasium) have taken home the Wildcats of the Week award.

Both become the first two-time winners of the school year.

SAMMIE SMITH
Smith was nothing short of dominant across a pair of matches against Coastal Alabama - North and Northeast last week for PRCC. 

She began the week with 16 digs, 13 kills, three assists and three blocks in a 3-1 victory over the Eagles. In Pearl River's first-ever match against the newly established Northeast Tiger volleyball program, Smith racked up 17 kills, seven digs, two service aces and one solo block. 

Through 19 matches, Smith is second on the Wildcats in kills (180), block assists (43) and service aces (26). She's first on the team in digs with 162. She's also chipped in 18 assists.

CHRISTOPHER DOMMER
Dommer was instrumental in a 1-0-1 week for the Wildcats. He first picked up a pair of goals in a 4-0 victory over East Mississippi. Dommer came up clutch when the Wildcats needed it most against Hinds. After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, Dommer scored a pair of second-half goals to help Pearl River gut out a 2-2 draw. 

Dommer leads the Wildcats in goals this season with seven. He's also chipped in one assist.

UP NEXT
Volleyball returns to Shivers Gymnasium on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. matchup with MACCC foe Itawamba. Men's soccer hits the road on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. match at Itawamba.
