POPLARVILLE — Pearl River couldn't maintain its early momentum Friday, falling to visiting Hinds 3-1 at the PRCC soccer complex.

Mike Jimenez (Ocean Springs) opened the match's scoring in the 10thminute, converting a Kealan Baggett (Ocean Springs) pass.

It looked like PRCC (8-2) would be able to ride its early energy to potentially build a lead but Hinds (4-3) countered in the 15thminute on a Beau Rimmer goal.

Ian Clendenin scored the decisive goal in the 27thminute, capitalizing on a counter that stemmed from a PRCC free kick.

Guilherme de Sousa tacked on an insurance goal in the 51stminute when he headed home a point blank shot.

Kobe Lie (Hattiesburg; North Forrest) made five saves in the defeat.

Wildcats return to the pitch Tuesday for a 7 p.m. kickoff against archrival Gulf Coast.
