Pearl River LB Noah Mitchell named to Preseason All-America team 

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Football season is still a couple of months away but the Pearl River football program is already getting some preseason hype. 

PRCC linebacker Noah Mitchell (Leakesville; Greene County) was recently named a JCGridiron.com's Preseason All-America 2nd Team. 

Mitchell had a phenomenal freshmen season for the Wildcats, tallying up 92 tackles with three sacks. 

Mitchell's 11.4 tackles-per-game ranked fourth in the country. 

Mitchell had a breakout performance against No. 1 Gulf Coast, racking up 23 tackles against the eventual national champions. 

For his effort, Mitchell was named NJCAA and MACJC Defensive Player of the Week. 

Mitchell also was named to the MACJC Second Team after the season along with teammate and South Alabama signee Darrel Luter (Hattiesburg; Oak Grove). 

Mitchell arrived at Poplarville after a stellar prep career at Greene County under new PRCC offensive coordinator Michael King; Mitchell was named First Team All-State his senior season after recording 142 tackles.
