Pearl River’s Terrence Humphrey wins MACJC Player of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River quarterback Terrence Humphrey (Clarksdale) has been named MACJC Player of the Week after a breakout performance last Thursday night against Itawamba, the league announced Wednesday.

The honor comes after Humphrey helped lead the Wildcats to a thrilling 35-31 win over ICC on the road in Fulton, 35-31. 

Humphrey completed 61 percent of his passes, throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for a score. 

His last touchdown of the night was the go-ahead score, a slant pass to Jaylan Wilson (Bay St. Louis; Bay High) to give the Wildcats the lead with 16.4 seconds remaining. 

The Wildcats take on No. 5 East Mississippi on Thursday night in Scooba. 

Kickoff is set for 7 pm.
