Pearl River’s Mychala Linzy, Tae Hardy named Forrest General Wildcats of the Week

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River sophomores Mychala "Pooh" Linzy (Clinton) and Tae Hardy (Ellenwood, Ga.; Believe Prep) have been named Forrest General Wildcats of the Week.

Both Wildcats had big-time performances last week that helped the two teams combine to go 4-1.

MYCHALA "POOH" LINZY
Linzy broke out offensively this week, helping the PRCC women (9-4 overall, 2-2 MACJC South) post a 2-1 record with a 51-44 win over Hinds and a dominating 92-61 victory at Coastal Alabama-South.

Linzy scored 11 points Monday in PRCC's loss at No. 11 Jones College. Linzy led PRCC in scoring in their next two victories, netting nine points with four rebounds and two assists against Hinds and 16 more points in Monroeville, Ala.

TAE HARDY
The No. 5 Wildcat men (12-0, 4-0) remain undefeated in large part because of the efforts of Hardy. Although Hardy only scored seven points with three assists in PRCC's 59-55 victory at Jones College, the East Carolina transfer erupted in the Wildcat's marquee showdown against Hinds. The point guard led PRCC in the 96-58 win with 20 points and collected three rebounds with three assists and two steals in the win over HCC. In the victory, Hardy was 8-for-11 from the floor.

NEXT UP
The Wildcats return to the hardwood Tuesday when they welcome rival Gulf Coast to Marvin R. White Coliseum. PRCC will close out the week Thursday with a road trip to Summit to face Southwest.

Both doubleheaders will begin at 5:30 p.m.
