Pearl River announces first Wildcats of the Week for 2019-20

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — Pearl River's Terrence Humphrey (Clarksdale) and Maddie Beets (Long Beach) have been named Wildcats of the Week. 

Beets has helped Pearl River's women's soccer team get off to a 2-0-1 start, netting two goals. Beets scored the lone goal in PRCC's 1-0 win at Hinds in the season opener and then added another goal in Friday's 4-1 win over Meridian.

Humphrey made the most of his debut at quarterback for the Wildcats, leading the squad to a 35-31 victory in Fulton. The redshirt freshman completed 22 of 36 passes for 254 yards with three touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown.

The soccer team is back in action Tuesday, traveling to Perkinston for a doubleheader against Gulf Coast. The women play at 5 p.m., with the men scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.

PRCC's football team returns to the gridiron for a 7 p.m. kickoff Thursday at East Mississippi. The game will be streamed at PRCCAthletics.com and PRCCMedia.com and will also be broadcast on WRJW 1320 AM.
